Polish/British mezzo soprano, Kasia Balejko has graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her current and future engagements include: Alvarez Young Artist Programme at Garsinton Opera where she will understudy the role of Ludmila in Smetana’s Bartered Bride. Chorus in Mercadante Il Bravo and a Leoni& Giordano Double Bill at Wexford Festival Opera. Previous to that she understudied Clairon in Strauss Capriccio, sang Dido in a concert performance of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Malika in Delibes' Lakme, understudy of Olga in Eugene Onegin with Garsington Opera, Lucretia in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, Opera Makers performance at the Clore Studio, Royal Opera House, Colombina Le donne curiose E. Wolf-Ferrari under Mark Shanahan.
Kasia was invited to be a Les Azuriales Young Artist Programme in Nice where she performed the role of Mistress Quickly in Verdi's Falstaff.
Other operatic and concert performances include Opera Scenes at the Studio Theatre in Milton Court and at The Buick Grand Theatre in Shanghai, and the alto solo part in Verdi's Requiem at Southwark Cathedral in London and a recital of arias and duets in La Pedrera Casa Mila in Barcelona
Kasia began her musical training as a violinist studying for 12 years at Ludomir Różycki Primary and Secondary Music School in Kielce. She completed her undergraduate training in vocal and drama at Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. During the course she performed as Lucy in The Beggar’s Opera and as Rinaldo in Handel masterpiece for G.G Gorczycki’s International Festival of Ancient Music.
Kasia graduated with distinction from postgraduate vocal course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and was awarded Concert Recital Diploma for her final recital.
